Martin Luther King Jr. Day vacation camp for children coming Jan. 16

The Sam Pomeranz Jewish Community Center of Syracuse is offering a Martin Luther King Jr. Day vacation camp for school-age children in grades K-6 on Monday, Jan. 16 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the JCC on 5655 Thompson Rd., DeWitt. A fun-filled day of exciting and creative activities is planned for the children to enjoy during their upcoming day off from school.

Half-day programs and early/late care to extend the day from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. are also available. Full-day campers are asked to bring a non-meat lunch. An afternoon snack will be provided.

The day will be filled with a variety of engaging activities such as arts and crafts, sports games and more. Morning activities will include hidden pictures and kickball in the gym. Activities scheduled for the afternoon include a hand banner and capture the flag in the gym.

The camp’s half-day options run from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Early registration pricing and a discount for siblings is available through January 11. Registration is discounted for JCC members, however membership or JCC program enrollment is not necessary for a child to attend the MLK Jr. Day vacation camp.
