Winter Break vacation camp Dec. 22–Jan. 2

The JCC of Syracuse is offering a Winter Break vacation camp for school-age children, grades K-6, from 9 a.m.–4 p.m. running Monday, Dec. 22 through Friday, Jan. 2, 2015 at its location on 5655 Thompson Rd., DeWitt. Exceptions to this schedule are a half day of camp on Dec. 24 and no camp on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

Image of a snowman.Each day of camp a variety of age-appropriate indoor and outdoor activities will keep the children busy, entertained and having fun. From sledding, snowman making, arts and crafts, sports and games to local field trips, there will be something for everyone to make this upcoming break from school memorable. The field trips planned are to the MOST, Bowl Mor Lanes and Niki’s Party Place in ShoppingTown Mall. Half-day programs and extended childcare will also be available.

“We’re excited to have the children here for two weeks for their winter break,” said Mick Hagan, JCC’s director of Children and Teen Services. “We’ve got lots of great activities and field trips planned to keep everyone active and having fun. We’re all going to have a blast.”

All campers should bring winter clothing for daily outdoor activities, weather permitting, including waterproof pants, coats, hats and gloves. Sneakers are required to play in the gym.

The camp’s half-day options, when available, are from 9 a.m.–noon and 1 p.m.–4 p.m. Extended childcare will be available starting at 7:30 a.m. and running until 6 p.m.  Early registration pricing through Dec. 15 starts at $25 per child for the half-day program and $40 for a full day, with a discount offered for siblings. Current JCC membership or program enrollment is not necessary for a child to attend the vacation camp.
