Martin Luther King Jr. Day vacation camp for children to be held Jan. 18

The Sam Pomeranz Jewish Community Center of Syracuse is offering a Martin Luther King Jr. Day vacation camp for school-age children in grades K-6 on Monday, January 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the JCC on 5655 Thompson Rd., DeWitt. A fun-filled day of exciting and creative activities is planned for the children to enjoy during their upcoming day off from school.

Image of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in front of the American flag.Half-day programs and early/late care to extend the day from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. are also available. Full-day campers are asked to bring a non-meat lunch. An afternoon snack will be provided.

The day will be filled with a variety of engaging activities such as arts and crafts, computer games, sports and more. Morning activities will include fusing plastic bead creations together and kickball in the gym. Activities scheduled for the afternoon include a group mural painting and obstacle course in the gym.

The camp’s half-day options run from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Early registration pricing and a discount for siblings is available through January 11. Registration is discounted for JCC members, however membership or JCC program enrollment is not necessary for a child to attend the MLK Jr. Day vacation camp.
