Looking for some fun and safe activities for your child to enjoy during the upcoming spring break from school?

The JCC of Syracuse will hold a Spring Break vacation camp for school-age children in grades K-6 on Tuesday, March 30 through Friday, April 2 from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the center on 5655 Thompson Rd., DeWitt. The camp is open to current JCC family members only and costs $240 per child.

There is no vacation camp on Monday, March 29 because the JCC will be closed for the start of Passover. Passover continues for the remainder of the week and Passover dietary restrictions (PDF, 104 KB) will be in place during this time.

Because of the coronavirus pandemic, registration is for all four days in order to accommodate small cohort groups per CDC and New York State guidelines. The children will spend each day in the same small groups enjoying a variety of activities including arts and crafts, games, gym time and outside activities. Every day will feature a different theme and schedule as follows.

Tuesday, March 30:  Outer Space Day
Come and join the JCC planet, create your own aliens, make space goo and watch out for the asteroids in the gym!

Wednesday, March 31:  Hollywood Day
Sit back and relax you are among the stars! Enjoy a movie on the big screen!

Thursday, April 1:  Wild, Wild, West
Yeeha! All cowboys and cowgirls welcome for some fun. Make your own tumbleweeds, lasso a big one and join in the fun at the hoedown.

Friday, April 2:  Games, Games, Games
Children will play in teams and against each other in both traditional games and nontraditional games! Prizes will be earned!

Pre-registration is required to attend the JCC's Spring Break vacation camp—no drop-ins allowed. Masks must be worn by all children. Each child must bring a non-meat lunch every day. Children should wear sneakers and come prepared daily for play inside and outside. If you are not currently enrolled in the JCC's Club J or After School programs, additional paperwork will be provided to complete.
