An important message from the JCC of Syracuse about the coronavirus

JCC Members & Friends,

We are monitoring the COVID-19 situation as health and safety is of the utmost importance to the Jewish Community Center of Syracuse. The CDC and local health authorities believe the risk of exposure is low and they do not recommend, at this time, cancellation of activities. However, we ask that if you have a fever or flu-like symptoms to stay home and seek medical care for yourself and refrain from coming to the JCC.

We are aware of the guidance issued yesterday by Onondaga county. We are undertaking steps to mitigate risk, including:

  • Installing hand sanitizing stations throughout the building.
  • You and your loved ones should limit touching of the face, nose and eyes.
  • The cleaning staff are increasing frequency of wiping down high touch surface areas and doorknobs.
  • Equipment in the fitness center is being wiped down more often.
  • Signs with proper hand washing protocol have been posted in the bathrooms around the building.
  • We will take additional actions as warranted.

During this time of uncertainty, we are vigilant and dedicated to ensuring our community remains healthy. We also ask you to do your part. Please take the time to familiarize yourself with the every-day personal and public health preventative actions recommended by the CDC. If you have traveled to any CDC designated COVID-19 affected countries, we ask that you follow the 14-day self-quarantine recommendations.

Thank you for partnering with us and prioritizing the wellbeing of our precious community.
