Dec. 21 "Drop-N-Shop" to give parents four hours of holiday shopping without the kids

For parents who want to get some last-minute holiday shopping done or have other plans that don’t include their children, a four-hour window of opportunity on the third Sunday of this month may be just what they need.

This mini half-day vacation camp is designed to get children—ages 3-12—out of the house and engaged in lots of fun activities while their parents get to spend five hours doing what they need or want to do.

“We’ve got a great day of supervised fun planned for the children,” says Jo David, the JCC’s Early Childhood Program director. “We know this can be a very hectic time of year for families, so we’re going to get the kids out of the house to have some fun with their friends and let them enjoy all of the winter-themed activities we have planned. And, hopefully, their parents will make this time equally fun and productive for themselves.”

The Kids Day Out activities will include snowman building and sledding (weather permitting), a bounce house, arts and crafts, games in the gym and a movie on the big screen. Children attending should bring a non-meat lunch.

Early registration pricing through Dec. 18 starts at $20 per child, with a $40 maximum per family. Current JCC membership or program enrollment is not necessary for children to attend the program.

Drop-N-Shop Kids Day Out is a program of the JCC of Syracuse’s Children’s Department and Early Childhood Development Program. For more information, call 315-445-2360 or download the flyer and registration form at right.
