JCC community menorah lightings start Dec. 23

Pictured are children in the JCC's after school and early childhood programs (to the right of the menorah) along with local rabbis (to the left of the menorah), at last year's lighting ceremony on the first night of Chanukah.

Come celebrate Chanukah at the weekday community menorah lightings starting on Monday, Dec. 23 at 4 p.m. at the Sam Pomeranz Jewish Community Center of Syracuse, 5655 Thompson Rd., DeWitt. The outdoor lightings at the JCC will continue at the same time each evening for the remainder of that week except for Wednesday, Dec. 25. Local congregational rabbis have been asked to lead the lighting ceremonies along with children from the JCC’s After School Program and Jerome and Phyllis Charney Early Child Development Program. The menorah lighting events are free and open to the public. For more information, contact the JCC of Syracuse at 315-445-2360 or
