If you can walk, you can run! That’s the mantra of the Syracuse Chargers Track Club and they’ll soon be bringing those words of encouragement to the Sam Pomeranz Jewish Community Center’s Neulander Sports & Fitness Center to teach individuals how to run.

The Chargers will once again hold their “Everyone Can Run Beginners Program” at the JCC Fitness Center, 5655 Thompson Rd., DeWitt, beginning Wednesday, Jan. 11. The free eight-week program is open to the public and will run on Wednesdays from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. through Mar. 1 at the JCC Fitness Center’s indoor track.

The program, open to individuals age 14 and older, is designed to teach beginners the proper way to run. Participants will start out slowly by mostly walking, and then increase running intervals each week on a set schedule. Information on running and related topics will also be presented during each session. All participants will receive a Syracuse Chargers pedometer.

For more information and to register, call the JCC Fitness desk at 315-234-4522 or download the registration form (PDF, 253 KB).
